The Lake District

Had a date with the Lake District today and she wore us out.  First up was Ullswater, we parked at Aira Force and walked up to the High Cascades Falls along the Aira Beck, an oversized babbling brook with a series of rapids and waterfalls along its length.  A nice long walk, a couple of detours but back to the tea rooms for a coffee.  We then walked down the Ullswater Lake to Glenridding where we were to get the boat back to Aira Force.  We were about an hour early for the boat so we had to go up to the pub for a little drink.  Got the boat back then went for a drive through the mountains of the Lake District.

Up to Keswick then down to Buttermere, magical views along interesting roads, chose to take the long way home and got back to the local public house, The Black Swan Inn for tea and a relaxing drink.  Lots of locals in the pub and they all sound like Geoff Boycott, even the 5 year olds!!  Home a little earlier tonight, almost bedtime!!!

Looks like the bark is slipping down

Another easy walk?
