Wimbledon today - it was everything we imagined and more!!! The weather was kind, the play was excellent and the venue was so interesting.
We left home this morning at 8.30 and parked about 20 minutes walk from Wimbledon. Got there in good time, collected our tickets and were inside, we had about half an hour before our first game so did a very small wander around.
To our seats for the first game, following that we went for the strawberries and cream, and had a Pimms. Back for our second game. By the time we got back for this game the sun had crossed overhead and was thankfully on our backs so we could put the sunscreen away.
Following this game we had a fair bit of time around the venue, had a bite to eat then back for a thrilling 5 set match that ended about 6.30. Back to the bar for another Pimms, it has been thirsty work and they are very refreshing. We then sat on Henman Hill and watched the 15 year old American Cori Gauff progress to the next round. Absolutely packed on the hill but great atmosphere.
Walked back to the car and got home about 10pm exhausted!!!

All looks fabulous!! I wondered if Henman Hill was still called Henman Hill, now I know!!
ReplyDeleteI guess you aren't buying any used linesman's uniforms, Pammy. I noticed that some of the men are still wearing dark underpants, dark enough to be noticed through the white shorts. Didn't de Mineur's or Thompson's father have to run out and buy him white or light undies last year, before they'd let him on the court???
They've stuck with Henman Hill for the moment; Murray Mound just hasn't taken off. There have been some interesting underwear conversation of which we have not been party to.....maybe for the best!!! The standards may be dropping at Wimbledon? Don't think we'll put up with that again, we'll refuse to go, that'll show them!!! Home soon, Love Pam and Vernon xxxxxxxxx
